Chelsea star faces drink-drive charge

Chelsea football star John Obi Mikel was arrested for suspected drink-driving hours before his club’s weekend FA Cup clash, it has emerged.

The 21-year-old was stopped by police at 5.30am on Saturday after being seen driving his Range Rover “erratically” near the club’s ground in London’s Fulham Road.

Hours later his team beat Ipswich 3-1 at home in the FA Cup fourth round, although Mikel was not part of the match day squad.

Footballers’ drives - top ten cars named

The Range Rover Sport is the most popular car of choice for the Premiership?s millionaire footballers.

The luxury off-roader held its place at the top for the second year running ? fending off competition from German 4×4s the BMX X5 and Porsche Cayenne which came second and third respectively.

Making up the top five in the list compiled by Nuts magazine are two British supercars with the Aston Martin DB9 the fourth most popular motor and Bentley Continental GT fifth.

New SSC Ultimate Aero ?able to reach 270mph?

The record top speed for a production car looks set to be smashed after SSC announced its Ultimate Aero TT now has 15 per cent more power.

The SSC Ultimate Aero TT currently holds the world record for a car after it hit 257mph in 2007, thanks to its twin-turbocharged 6.2-litre V8 engine which develops 1,187bhp.

But this isn?t enough for Shelby SuperCars which has fitted the Ultimate Aero TT with an aluminium engine block and upped oomph to 1,287bhp.
